Ghost Protocol
A digital persona analyzer for chat archives.
Ghost Protocol takes a chat archive and surfaces a digital persona from it. Language patterns. Rhythm. Repetition. What gets said, what gets avoided. The shape of someone, reconstructed from the text they left behind.
The premise is simple: digital conversation contains more signal than we register in the moment. Across hundreds or thousands of messages, persistent patterns emerge, vocabulary, syntax, the cadence of how someone responds to good news or bad. Ghost Protocol surfaces those patterns and makes them legible.
Export.
Export a chat archive from WhatsApp, iMessage, or any messaging app that supports text export. The tool accepts .txt files or .zip archives with media.
Frame.
Add context about the relationship. Who is this person to you. How you communicate. Any traits worth surfacing, sarcasm, humor, recurring topics, emotional register.
Analyze.
The tool processes the conversation patterns, applies the context you've provided, and constructs a persona profile from what's present in the archive.
Read.
The output is a digital persona, a portrait of someone built from the conversation they had. What persists. What recurs. What's distinctive in their voice.
Ghost Protocol began as an attempt to analyze a private WhatsApp archive from a family member. The tool was generalized afterward so that anyone could upload their own chat exports, between friends, partners, collaborators, family. The premise holds regardless of source: digital conversation carries a recoverable signal, and the patterns in our messaging reveal something legible about who we are.
